Public Transport Apps in the Netherlands
  • At the station: Yellow NS ticket machines (accept cards, no cash). You can print a paper ticket with a QR code.

  • On your phone: Buy in the NS or 9292 (recommended) apps and use the digital QR code.

  • OVpay / Contactless: Simply tap in and out at gates with your contactless debit/credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) or even Apple Pay/Google Pay. This works for trains, buses, trams, and metros.

9292 App (recommended)

  • Covers all Dutch public transport: trains, buses, trams, and metros.

  • Perfect for planning connections if you need to combine train + bus or tram.

  • Gives real-time departure times and alternative routes.

  • You can also buy combined tickets (e.g., train + bus in one go).

Buying Tickets

NS App (Nederlandse Spoorwegen)

  • The official Dutch railway app.

  • Shows train schedules, platforms, delays, and live updates.

  • You can also buy digital train tickets in the app (paid by credit card, iDEAL, or PayPal).

  • When you buy a mobile ticket, it comes with a QR code you scan at the station gates.

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (Airport Code: AMS)

Train (Easy and Recommended)

  • The train station is directly underneath Schiphol Airport, on the basement level.

  • When you arrive at Schiphol, just follow the yellow signs marked “Trains / Treinen”.

  • There are escalators and elevators down to the station hall where you will find ticket machines, service desks, and gates.

  • Trains from Schiphol connect directly to many Dutch cities, and from there you can switch to regional trains or buses to Boskoop.

  • From Schiphol Airport station, take an NS train towards Boskoop.

  • In the 9292 app, enter From: Schiphol Airport (or allow the app to use your current location) and To: Flora Boskoop.

  • The app will show you the next available trains and buses to take.

  • Don’t forget to buy your ticket – either in the NS app, the 9292 app, at a ticket machine, or simply by using contactless (OVpay) at the gates.

  • If the app doesn’t work, you can use the 9292 English website: https://9292.nl/en/

Taxi (recommended when travelling in groups): Taxi apps (Uber, Bolt, local taxis) are also available from Schiphol and other Dutch cities. While more expensive than public transport, they can be convenient, especially if you are in a group, since splitting the fare often makes it cost-effective.

From Eindhoven Airport (Airport Code: EIN)

Bus + Train (via Eindhoven Centraal & Utrecht Stations)

  • Take bus 400 or 401 from Eindhoven Airport to Eindhoven Centraal.

  • Train to Utrecht Centraal.

The same applies if you are arriving at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, use 9292 to plan your trip from the airport to Gouda or your accommodation.
