Senior Researcher, Research Division Agroecology and Environment, Agroscope, Switzerland

Since joining Agroscope in 2013, Dr. Collatz has conducted extensive research on the benefits and risks of biological control using natural enemies in both protected and open-field systems. Her work connects ecological understanding with practical applications in sustainable pest management.

She provides expertise to the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture, teaches at ETH Zürich, and serves as a member of the Joint EPPO–IOBC Panel on Biological Control Agents.

Her recent research focuses on assessing the risks and benefits of combining sustainable pest control methods for managing invasive insect species. Before joining Agroscope, she completed her PhD at the University of Hohenheim, where she studied parasitoids of ticks and storage pests, and conducted postdoctoral research at ETH Zürich on multitrophic interactions in apple orchards.

Keynote Lecture:
Combination of Strategies for Sustainable Control of the Invasive Tomato Leafminer Phthorimaea absoluta

Her presentation will explore how integrated and complementary control strategies can enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of pest management in tomato production systems.
